Öz Geçmiş Benjamin Briu, of the Briu Flash Studio in the South Bronx, has been a photographer for over ten years. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and currently residing in the South Bronx, he balances a life as an artist and as a husband and full-time paramedic for the city of New York. He spent close to eight years as the in-house photographer for the Thalia Theater, beginning in 2000, where he worked with the Mestizo Dance Company, who eventually used BriuFlash images for one of their CDs and calendars during the years of 2004-2005. Briu has also worked as an assistant to numerous wedding photographers and to the acclaimed Gary Marlon Sosun, the official Ground Zero photographer for the Uniformed FireFighter's Association. He was one of the two chosen official photographers of poet Angelique Imani "Sublime" Rodriguez' annual Poetry in Pink event in 2010 and he's shot countless shoots which have been featured in numerous galleries and shows across the city. As owner and principal photographer of Briu Flash Studio in the South Bronx, Benjamin Briu's main objective through his photography is to establish a comfortable and collaborative experience with his clients. He says "I just want us to work together so we can achieve that one perfect image."
