Biografía Alfred Robbins was born in Queens, New York. After completing his bachelor's degree at the State University of New York at Old Westbury, Robbins began a career in the insurance industry. Being an avid movie fan his entire life, Robbins decided to take a few acting classes. He worked as an extra on the hit television show New York Undercover. He also appeared in television commercials for the New York MTA as well as Bell Atlantic. Robbins discovered that he was learning more about filmmaking than acting and in 1995 he formed Bottom of the Net Filmworks with Derrick Owens. Later that year they produced their first short film \"One for the Money\". Robbins also completed his first feature length screenplay. In 2001, he wrote, produced and directed the short film \"New York Stories\" which was selected for the 2001 Huntington Cinema Arts Film Festival. In 2002 Robbins wrote, produced and directed the short film \"Jada Who?\". The film was selected by the 2003 Hollywood Black Film Festival and was screened at the 2003 Pan African Film Festival and the 2003 National Black Arts Festival.

In 2005 Robbins wrote and directed the feature film \"Trust\" which was acquired by Maverick Entertainment in 2006. The title was changed to \"The Devil's Diamond\" and released at Blockbuster video.

Robbins’ 2008 film “Grapes on a Vine” premiered at the 2008 Pan African Film festival in Los Angeles at the Magic Johnson Theater where it was nominated for “Best Director First Feature”. It was acquired by Unearthed Home Entertainment and was released at Blockbuster Video on February 16, 2010.

Currently Robbins is in pre-production on his second feature film.
