As an artist in an increasingly synthetic world, I navigate through the systemic web of cultural commerce, unveiling intricate layers of deception and psychological manipulation. Through an alchemical fusion of glass, metal, ceramic and light, my work reflects an ongoing investigation of science and nature. As an advocate of both systemic and intuitive knowledge, I empirically explore the alluring realm of botany and biology in an effort to cultivate a dialogue between the natural and artificial.

Bio Bree Gomez is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with an emphasis on sculpture and design. Her work is represented at S.R. Brennen Gallery in Palm Desert, California and Galleria Romanelli in Florence, Italy. Last September, her glass sculpture, Refraction was represented at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel for ArtPrize, one of the world’s largest art competitions, held in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Most recently, she has been using light to activate the public spaces that exist within a Federal prison in Chicago, attempting to providing a connection point between pedestrians and prisoners.
