One of the most unique and versatile bands to come out of the Bay Area in recent years, BASSment combines jazz, blues, funk, soul, and everything in between to create a tasteful melange of musical chemistry. Known for their amazing talent and energy, BASSment is an up and coming modern "organ trio" style ensemble (all bass lines are played by Kevin's left hand) based in San Francisco that is blowing minds one performance at a time. The band has been together for over 5 years with original members Kevin Wong on key bass/organ, Nate Mercereau on guitar, Daniel Casares on saxophone, and newest member Dante McClinton on drums.

Bio Born with perfect pitch, Kevin started playing piano when he was 4 years old. He wrote his first original composition when he was 7 years old, and proceed to learn to play clarinet, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, tuba, trombone, and bass trombone over the next 10 years. When he was 18 he wrote a 17-piece jazz big band arrangement, returning back to piano & saxophone. Two years later he fell in love with the hammond organ, soon leading to strong interest in gospel music. He currently manages & directs his own organ trio BASSment (www.BASSmentmusic.com) & holds the organist’s chair for 2 local churches & the SFSU gospel choir.
