The Invincible Black Armor

The EWS Mark IV Ultimate Knight Armor

This Fourth Generation EWS will be the most sophisticated and powerful armor in Silent Knight's™ arsenal. Complete details relating to its design and technical specifications remain classified, but it is believed to be an upgraded version of the EWS Mark III Ultraviolet™ Armor, though far more powerful and with greater overall capabilities and integral weaponry.

The armor's constructed of foamed, molecular Neotitanium Lanxide™ with an average thickness of 15 centimeters. An outer belt of 7.5 centimeters-thick component LYTD-III™ Ablative Armor increases its durability, rendering it effectively impervious to HAPE™ [Heavy Armor Piercing Explosive] ammo, certain types of Electromagnetic [Rail] projectiles, shaped-charge RPGs, rockets, flechettes, cluster munitions, mortars and energy-based weapons like lasers, particle energy streams and phased plasma beams.

Constructed of the strongest metallic alloy known to science, it can easily withstand direct impacts from 155m pulse rounds without damage, the standard combat round of the NAF's M1A1 Powell Main Battle Tank, the world's most powerful and sophisticated MBT. Its XE [Negative Environment] support systems enables it to survive any NBC [Nuclear Biological Chemical] scenario, and fully protects the wearer from any airborne, waterborne or weaponized infectious or toxological pathogen.

The armor stands 3.75 meters tall, and weighs 4.75 metric tons and is designed for protracted combat in any environment, its design emphasizing brute force and a complex array of extremely powerful and sophisticated energy and projectile-based weaponry to neutralize any opponent. It comes complete with the most sophisticated navigational-guidance systems, secure holographic datalink communication arrays, integrated short and long-range LIDAR-[LIght Detection And Ranging] based sensor systems, electro-optical imaging systems, fire control systems available, and a Positronic-based mainframe computer to facilitate primary suit operation.

Standard among its most powerful weapons are Shock Fist™ and Ultimate Zero™.

Shock Fist™ employs powerful discharges of lightning-like electrobaric energy which, at its lowest settings can temporarily stun an individual or a large group, to unleashing enough energy at full output equivalent to the detonation of 500kgs of TNT, powerful enough to topple a skyscraper at a maximum effective range of 100m.

Ultimate Zero™ is an entropy based weapon that artificially lowers the temperature of any molecular structure to -320 degrees Fahrenheit almost instantly, the temperature of liquid nitrogen.

The most powerful weapon in Silent Knight's extensive arsenal is codenamed "Long Lance," a Quantum Energy powered 120mm cannon located on the armor's back. Full details are classified regarding its capabilities, but most defense analysts believe it capable of unleashing enough Zero Point energy in one discharge equivalent to the detonation of 10 metric tons of TNT, with a maximum effective range of 300 meters.

While its combat philosophy emphasizes high tech weaponry to engage opponents, the Mark IV also carries an assortment of more conventional arms like quad micro-missile launchers, dual cyanite-based Gatling guns, dual turbo-laser cannons, dual phased plasma energy cannons, isomolecular containment web extrapolators, sonic pulse cannons, smoke and star shell launchers, gravitic mortar launchers, and remote surveillance-assault microdrones.

Though not principally a weapon, one of the most tactically effective devices in Silent Knight's arsenal is codenamed Zero G™, a heavy graviton/antigraviton projection system capable of altering the gravitational constant of any object, ferrous or otherwise, allowing it to repulse and attract both matter and energy.

Primary gravimetric emitters are located in the armor's hands, and, operating at full strength are capable of lifting a mass weighing in excess of 60 metric tons over a maximum effective distance of 50m.

For close combat situations, the Mark IV can extend a pair of molecular weld Protanium™ staves from its forearms for a distance of 1 meter. Called CCWs [Close Combat Weapons], these razor sharp nanometal extrusions, once charged with plasma, are capable of cutting through virtually any known material, possessing operating core temperatures of +3320 degrees Celsius.

The Mark IV imparts prodigious strength to its operator. At full output, it can press 250+ metric tons indefinitely, the combined mass of 4 Abrams Main Battle Tanks. With additional auxiliary power to boost its strength, it can temporarily exceed this limit by about 50 percent before overall system performance begins to degrade over a period of about 15 minutes and automatic overrides engage to prevent mechanical failure.

Sheathed by a pair of heavily armored metal pounders constructed of diamond-based Trikonium III™ to increase its striking power in the dynamic-concussive range threefold, the Mark IV's armored fists can strike with enough isokinetic energy to penetrate 10+ meters of reinforced concrete, roughly equivalent to the impact of a shaped charge of 1250 kilograms of TNT. Using both fists to strike the ground, Silent Knight can effectively produce the effects of a minor earthquake powerful enough to overturn cars and shatter windows within an area covering 1 city block.

Though best suited for optimal mobility over level terrain, the Mark IV's feet include a pair of integral, tank-tread style inlines allowing it to operate over any type of terrain. Maximum foot speed over level terrain is limited to 27.5km/hr. However, assisted by its SRFB [Short Range Flight Booster] System, inlines deployed on level ground, it can reach a maximum velocity of 500kph for limited periods, attaining a maximum linear distance of 15km before boosters disengage and the system requires recharging. The SRFB also permits it to achieve periods of limited duration flight, enabling it to making a standing leap of 1.5km in the vertical, and 4.5km in the horizontal.

The Mark IV is specifically designed to be resistant to EMP [ElectroMagnetic Pulse] style attacks, most notably e-bombs, or EPFCGs [Explosively Pumped Flux Compression Generators]. Unlike conventional bombs utilizing chemical explosives to destroy a designated target, the EPFCG uses a highly charged EMP field. It utilizes chemical explosives to compress an electrically charged internal field coil to produce the effect, producing a microwave-based electrical pulse which is highly effective against vehicles and electronic components. Energies produced in the blast are variable by device, but the most powerful can reach the terajoule range, sufficient to incapacitate most conventional military vehicles and hardened facilities within a radius of several hundred meters.

The suit's heavy specialized armor enables it to easily withstand the concussive blast generated by the nearby detonation of up to 1000 kilograms of high explosives without appreciable damage, and withstand background levels of ionizing radiation equivalent to 18 Sieverts/hour, levels great enough to kill an exposed human being within seconds of initial exposure. It can easily withstand the immense pressures encountered in the deepest parts of the ocean without damage, and an extensive life support system capable of sustaining the wearer's life under the most adverse conditions and negative environments for several weeks.

An additional defensive mechanism provides further protection to the Mark IV in combat and hazardous environments, the Ikon D Tactical Deflection System. It consists of a series of overlapping magnetic forcefields operating in the terahertz range capable of withstanding virtually any type of energetic, dynamic, concussive, ballistic or radiative impact for limited periods, depending upon intensity and duration.

The Mark IV features a revolutionary [and detachable] Dual Mode FTL [Faster Than Light] propulsion system developed by Maxwell Aerospace's™ Dreamworks Research & Development's Division's™ UltraDynamics Propulsion Systems™. Hyperlight travel will be facilitated by artificially generating anchored wormholes in the space-time continuum, as opposed to accelerating beyond Einstein's Limit. During subspace and sublight travel, it will be protected from the rigors of interstellar flight by its Neotitanium Lanxide III Ablative Armor™ and a powerful magnetic repulsion system capable of deflecting extreme levels of external radiation, pressure, temperature and concussive, energetic and kinetic impacts.

Though exact specs remain classified, most defense analysts estimate it capable of accelerating to 60 light multiples beyond lightspeed and .90c at sublight velocities for extended periods.

For atmospheric travel, the armor sports an integral Maxwell Aerodynamics™ MMR-40 Dual Mode Ionic Scramjet Pack enabling it to attain a top speed of Mach 12.75 in level flight at 30,000 meters MSL, an unrefueled flight range of 24,500 kilometers, and an external payload of 12.5 metric tons. It's capable of direct ground to orbital flight and can easily withstand the frictional heat of reentry into the atmosphere, an external temperature of +2700 degrees Celsius [ 2973.15 degrees Kelvin] without damage, as well as the near absolute zero temperatures encountered in deep space.

Among the suit's most sophisticated technological innovations is a prototype Malachite I Model Zero Point™ [Quantum] Energy Reactor located in the chest, giving it almost limitless power and range with a purported maximum output of 4.2 terajoules, an energy output equivalent to the detonation of 1000+ metric tons of high explosives if allowed to reach critical mass.

A Brief History of Me...

Small town African American. Kansas sunflowers and dusty, back country roads. Saturday afternoon matinees and ice cream spoons. More or less. I’m just a transplanted Kansas country boy currently living in Akron, Ohio, the result of a desire to see another part of the world east of the Mississippi in my lifetime. Where I go from here, only time and Dame Fortune, Empress Of The World will tell.

I've always enjoyed traveling far afield since my youth; though my journeys then were purely imaginary forays into the fictional and the fantastical. I remember many a fond Saturday afternoon spent at my small town’s local theater watching the day’s matinee, absorbed in films from The Poseidon Adventure to Godzilla vs. Monster Zero. In quieter moments, delving into the fictional worlds created by Marvel and DC Comics. The creative minds looked like they were really having fun. So, I thought, "Hey, now here's something I can work with."

So here began my desire to express myself in illustration, heavily influenced by such notable comic industry legends like Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, and conceptual illustrators like Chesley Bonestell, Ralph McQuarrie, Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo. I expanded my range of creative interest to film, remembering many fond hours at Saturday matinees and watching Late Late Movies showing films from the classical to the wonderfully campy, Citizen Kane to Santa Claus Conquers the Martians in early morning hours when I should've did the traditional thing by being fast asleep in bed.

Cinema expanded my creative horizons. My inspirations include the collective masterpieces of Orson Welles, Sergio Leone, Ishiro Honda, Stanley Kubrick, Akira Kurosawa and David Lean, to name just a few.

I never went to art or film school. I never had to. It would've been a waste of time, both theirs and mine. I'm an extremely poor student at learning anything through structured instruction. I'm more of the field tripper, preferring to learn by doing and example entirely on my own. Blessed with natural talent, and an almost supernatural ability for observation, I learned by the seat of my pants to define my unreal realities, being entirely self-instructed by watching these great masters at work in their various mediums. I learn by direct example, by doing. Pure and simple. I learn very quickly and never forget.

Shared visions. If I could collaborate with anyone creatively, well, aside from those named, pretty much anyone who shares my vision and enthusiasm for creating realms of pure imagination. If I could collaborate with them on any project--it would most definitely be in bringing the monumental saga of Lamont Alexander Maxwell III and the Invincible Black Armor to life on the big screen in all of its glory, for all the world to see.

My art. The most important lesson that I’ve learned about my artistry—passion, perseverance and patience. These are crucial in perfecting your art, as well as persevering in it, and if you succeed, to allow the world at large to embrace your vision.

All these worlds... My creativity means to me as possessing the ability to craft realms and wondrous characters beyond an endless horizon without end, ones capable of capturing the imagination of the youth in all of us. When you accomplish this, you've done your job as an artist, whatever your medium and your name will echo throughout the ages as a true visionary.
